FRAMEWORKS

Carbon offsetting projects located in the UK exist within world’s most robust carbon project planning, regulation and inspection framework.  Your carbon offsetting through our UK projects will officially count towards the Paris Agreement.

The UK’s Woodland Carbon Code and Peatland Code, in which Highland Carbon operates, are administered by the Forestry Commission Scotland and the International Union for the Conservation of Nature in consultation with Scottish Nature.

All projects are independently verified and validated by official third parties including the Soil Association and Organic Farmers and Growers.  Projects are officially third party inspected on a rolling quinquennial basis for 50-100 years, depending on the duration of the carbon budget for each site.
