PARTNERSHIPS

All projects, woodland and peatland, are developed in consultation with Scottish Nature.  Our Peatland projects are administered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature in consultation with The Wildlife Trust and with project impacts reviewed by the RSPB.  Our woodland projects are regulated by the Scottish Forestry (previously called the Forestry Commission Scotland).

Highland Carbon actively encourages estates to collaborate directly ecologists and zoologists working on the ground in rare species management, reintroduction and habitat best practice.  At one estate, for example, Kew Gardens has an interest in undertaking a rare flora management project.

Highland Carbon brings its own expertise to the framework in relation to landscape conservation impacts.  We apply that knowledge in relation to project selection and project parameters.
